The 38th General Meeting of Intercable, which was held in Bologna/Italy in December 2009, has brought together some of the major leaders in the world cable industry for a comprehensive overview of this rapidly expanding market. The Intercable members have had the chance to exchange their experiences and points of view during the traditional two-day interdisciplinary symposium, entitled “Innovations in technology of wire and cable production, cable manufacturing machinery and control devices”, which took place on December 8-9, 2009 at the Royal Carlton Hotel in Bologna.
The Bologna symposium was divided into 3 sessions (Cable and wire production; Wire and cable manufacturing machinery; Measuring instruments) and covered topics relevant to the extrusion field, drawing from the new generation of cable products based on superconductive materials to innovations in cable marking, from improvements in the machine design and productivity to novelties in measuring and control technology for wire and cable production lines.
Among the many in-depth speeches, the CEO of SAMP, Mr. Artemio Affaticati, held one of the most interesting and innovative presentations, entitled “Saving your money - How to get the most out of your machine investment”, which raised the participants’ curiosity for the new developments and improvements by SAMP. The participants could then have a thorough look and enjoy a clear description of the latest SAMP machinery and equipment on site during the SAMP Inhouse Show, which took place on the following day, December 10, 2009, in the brand new plant in Bentivoglio/Bologna.
