On December 16, 2008 the second edition of the SAMP Award 2008 took place in the enchanting lecture hall of the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Bologna/Italy. The award ceremony represents the culmination of a painting and photography competition launched every two years by the SAMP Group, which grants five awards to the most promising Academy students and graduates.
The source of inspiration for the 56 young participants was the final production of the Sampsistemi Division, that is copper wires and cables manufactured on Sampsistemi machines.
The five best works of art have been selected by a Committee made up of six notable people in the Bologna artistic environment: Annamaria Maccaferri - on behalf of the SAMP Group; Carlotta Pesce - art consultant; Mauro Mazzali - Director of the Accademia; Nino Migliori - artist; Eleonora Frattarolo and Walter Guadagnini, professors of the Accademia. The following students were appointed with five awards:
1st Award - Amandyne Samyn, E' mio
2nd Award - Irene Maria Di Palma, Amnesia
3rd Award - Laura Saltini, Diagonale
4th Award - Dario Scala, Senza Titolo
